The Delroy

IMG_3636.jpg

My friend Dave and I made this drink (actually, he made the drinks, and I drank the drinks) during our quarantine sesh this summer, taking quick sips under masks at his restaurant Turn.

Something about me: I get really annoyed at bloggers that tell long-winded stories about their kids, their husband, the new countertops in their kitchen, the first gourmet bologna (BALONEY) sandwich they had, or whatever the f***, and then I’m forced to scroll past 7,200 pages worth of text and ads when I all I want is the damn recipe. So, here is the damn recipe.

The Delroy

2oz lemonade

1 large jig light rum (Lyre’s Light Cane Spirit)

Berry Tea

Fill a collins glass (or a red solo cup, or whatever you have at home) with ice, and add the lemonade, cane spirit, and top off with a generous splash of berry tea.

Admire the pretty colors, then swivel a spoon or straw in the glass and you’re done. Enjoy!

Vanity Gee

Vanity is many things, but mostly a bundle of thoughts, feelings and matching facial expressions. She is a multi-instrumentalist, adult beverage connoisseur, writer, and bibliophile. Vanity is an arts administrator, advocate for young people, music educator, and production manager, but most importantly, is a loving friend, daughter, sister, and wife. She studied music, economics, and education, and has a few degrees to match. Vanity is an alumna of the Harvard of the Midwest, the Home of the Badgers, and that very old and very erudite university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Though the library is pretty much the only place Vanity truly feels at home, her roots go back to Southern Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri. She is currently searching for the best fish and shrimp plate New York has to offer.
